Niche and Bespoke originally the fine dining division of Robinsons Catering moved into it’s own dedicated central production kitchen in 2019. Following an uncertain start in the middle of a global pandemic the business has experienced rapid growth. Robinsons Catering already an established business continues to thrive with their portfolio of schools and nurseries expanding all the time.

Dan Robinson, the CEO and his highly trained team of chefs are passionate about delivering excellence to their customers. Dan decided that he needed some expert food safety advice and support to improve their existing food safety systems to ensure compliance and to improve their due diligence documentation.

The Solution

Food Safety Logic consultants visited both premises to understand the individual business operations. They reviewed and updated their existing food safety documentation with bespoke HACCP plans that reflected the food being produced including hot held nursery food, cooked sandwich meat, pre packed sandwiches and chilled airline meals.

The local Environmental Health Officer (EHO) advised that Niche and Bespoke required approval for products of animal origin and our food safety consultant worked closely with her to deliver this. It makes sense as we all speak the same language and understand what is required to deliver complex pieces of work such as this. Detailed information for the approval was presented in an easy to understand format to ensure the process was trouble free for Dan and the EHO.

Dan has signed up to a business support package with Food Safety Logic for both Niche and Bespoke and Robinsons Catering, to ensure that they have ongoing help and support as the businesses grow, specifically:

The Result

Very Good Food Hygiene Rating Score

Robinsons Catering have just been awarded a ‘Very Good’ Food Hygiene Rating Score which demonstrates that food is being handled hygienically; the physical condition of the premises and cleaning standards are high and there is a high confidence in management regarding how the business keeps food and customers safe. This top rating applies to all food made by Robinsons Catering.

Niche and Bespoke have been given their approval including an approval number which must be displayed on the labels of products of animal origin that they make. Approval is a lot more in-depth than a routine inspection. Detailed documents on pest control, waste management, maintenance, water and micro testing etc. are reviewed by the local enforcing authority to ensure these procedures are in place and the business is compliant prior to being awarded approval.

A positive relationship has been established between Food Safety Logic and Dan Robinson and the business support package he has signed up to will ensure that this continues into the future with regular advice, audits, updates and consultancy support.

Niche and Bespoke is due to move to new premises and Robinsons Catering continue to expand their offering to include buffets for private events so there are exciting times ahead……..for both Dan Robinson, his team and Food Safety Logic.
