The date is looming when hopefully hospitality businesses will be able to reopen (fingers crossed) if the Government’s road map goes to plan. If you have an external eating area outside this could happen as early as April 12th and inside from May 17th. As well as all the thousands of things you need to consider for re-opening don’t forget about training.
Your staff must be trained to do their jobs so they can make safe food. Training should be updated on a regular basis so now is the time you should consider doing a training needs assessment or TNA. In simple terms this means looking at what training your staff have and what they need and filling in the gaps. If your employees’ training is out of date or you are taking on new team members you will need to get some training sorted out.
During lockdown I have been delivering training virtually and have recently updated the courses I train in this way. Although restrictions are being lifted slowly virtual training is still the safest way to train your staff. See my previous blog on Virtual Training with Food Safety Logic for more details and information on what to expect.
