How to get COVID Updates

Sign up to receive my emails here and as a bonus you will get a copy of my risk assessment template with lots of example controls for businesses opening up as of 12th April 2021 for outdoor dining.

NEW UPDATE: Payment at food venues that serve alcohol

On 8th April 2021 an update was made to the guidance for restaurants, pubs, bars and takeaway services that only applies if you serve alcohol. Payment can now be made inside the food  premise as an alternative to taking payment outside at the customer’s table. This should only be done as a last resort.

If payment is made indoors then customers must come in alone. They should also wear a face covering and only be required to make one payment. Businesses can operate a tab system if necessary to facilitate this.

Please note payment can be taken inside for those businesses not serving alcohol.

(This is an example of the type of update you will receive by signing up to my email list)

Caution: outdoor shelters

In my blog last week I put together some advice for food businesses who can offer outdoor dining as of 12th April, read more here. Don’t fall foul of the rules. Outdoor shelters must have at least 50% of the sides open to be compliant. The reason being that it helps to limit the spread of the virus seating customers in the open air.
