Why you need to keep up to date on allergens?

All food businesses, including caterers and manufacturers, need to provide accurate and up to date allergen information to their customers, and be able to make safe food for people with allergies.

Allergen legislation has recently been amended by Natasha’s Law. This means that if you serve pre-packed for direct sale (PPDS) food you need to follow the new rules from October 1st 2021.    

The information available on allergens can be confusing and difficult to  fully understand how it applies to your business and what you must do legally. As a food business operator, you have a duty to keep your staff, customers, and visitors safe by providing them with information about allergens that are contained in the food you produce and serve.
